Rickarton Estate

There are two shoots on the Estate, the family shoot which includes pheasants and ducks as well as a plan to try to revitalise the old grouse population which still just hangs on on the hill ground and a syndicate which operates around the Durris end of the Estate.

 

The family shoot consists of two parts, the lower part is centered around Rickarton House and the upper part is centered around Auquhollie. The main species shot on the family shoot are pheasants and ducks, as well as this there are many flight ponds on the Estate where ducks are flighted during the evening as well at the occasional goose on the Allochie Lochan.

 

Shooting is available on Rickarton through the winter with rough shooting available from the start of October until the beginning of January for 1 – 5 guns with a chance to shoot rabbits, pheasants, pigeon, ducks, snipe & woodcock, duck flighting available from September until the end of November for 1 – 3 guns and limited driven pheasant days available from November until the beginning of January for 1 – 8 guns.
